This summer, indie-folk multi-instrumentalist Christopher Bell will take a new approach to touring. Beginning July 1st, Chris will ride his bicycle 700 miles–from Jamestown, NY to Chicago, IL–playing shows along the way. Originally planned as a two man trip, Chris's touring partner Joel broke his wrist a week before they were set to leave. Not one to give up, Chris decided to continue alone.
Armed with a garage sale Casio keyboard, a viola and a looping pedal, this multi-instrumentalist brings his brand of indie folk to the midwest on this eco-friendly, economically driven tour. Starting in his hometown of Jamestown, NY, Chris will travel about 45-60 miles a day until he reaches his goal of Chicago on July 18th.
This isn't the first time Chris has taken a different approach to touring. Last year he canoed 550 miles from Buffalo to New York City on the Erie Canal and Hudson River, a feat that landed him on the pages of the NY Times, NPR, and CBS Evening News with Katie Couric.
